Global to LocalBringing experience from around the globe to solve local environmental challenges

Geospatial Planning Advisors (GPA) is an experienced environmental management and geospatial technologies firm working at the intersection of policy and technology. Our staff has experience in watershed management, conservation planning, sustainable economic development, spatial planning, and renewable energy development and has worked in Guinea, Madagascar, Mozambique, Puerto Rico, California, Chesapeake Bay, District of Columbia, Maryland, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Through our work we have assisted renewable energy companies to identify potential opportunities for commercial-scale, solar energy projects; helped local governments identify and map their green infrastructure; partnered with global NGOs to analyze economic potential of agriculture, forestry, and conservation programs; and advise clients on the integration of geospatial technologies for monitoring and reporting to meet their benchmarks.

Scott Kaiser, CEO, is an urban and environmental planner with a background in applied applications of geospatial technologies to advance watershed management policies and programs to improve water resources. Mr. Kaiser brings a context-driven approach to solving the most complex environmental problems. Mr. Kaiser is not bound by environmental or economic silos and seeks out opportunities to integrate multiple sectors in watershed management and conservation plans. Most recently, Mr. Kaiser worked on source water protection issues at the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin where he coordinated the Potomac Drinking Water Source Protection Partnership. In this capacity, he coordinated outreach with small drinking water systems to form collaborative efforts to protect source water in the headwaters of the Potomac basin as well as provide technical support on priority projects for the Partnership.

Kyle Perata, Land Use Planner and Technical Advisor, is a Senior Planner at the City of Menlo Park, California. Mr. Perata is interested in community engagement, economic development, geographic information systems, and community development with the goals of creating more livable, healthier, sustainable, and economically viable cities. Major projects include managing the environmental review, land use entitlements, and public outreach and meeting process for an approximately 1.3 million square foot campus expansion project for a major tech company. The Project includes two new office buildings and a hotel. Mr. Perata has experience reviewing and preparing staff reports and technical documents, running public outreach meetings, presenting to various commissions and the City Council, and preparing project associated documents (resolutions, ordinances, conditions of approval, conditional development permits, rezonings, etc.) for complex development projects.
